Our Process

YOUR PATH TO FRANCHISE OWNERSHIP

Application
After reviewing the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD), you’ll
complete the application.

If there’s early alignment, we’ll schedule a call to:
  • Answer your specific questions
  • Review your application
  •  Give you access to our franchisees for more due diligence
Franchise Agreements
We'll finalize your multi-unit territory (2 or more) and the timeline to open them. You’ll sign a development agreement as well as a franchise agreement for the first store and we’ll collect the development fees.

Both sides evaluate fit across:
  • Financial readiness
  • Business experience
  • Long-term growth alignment
Construction
We'll provide a layout of a typical Broken Yolk along with all equipment and design specifications.  You'll hire a designer (or architect, if required) to modify the plans to fit your specific site and submit to your local building authority.  Once the plans are approved, you'll hire a general contractor to build your restaurant.

During your tenant improvements phase, a member of our construction team will visit your site to make sure your construction stays on track.
Inquiry
After you complete the short inquiry form, we’ll reach out to learn more about your qualifications and answer your initial questions. We’ll discuss development timelines, training, marketing, technology platforms and purchasing for both food and equipment.

If you meet the financial and operational requirements, we’ll send a Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) and application.

Discovery Day
After you've completed your due diligence with our franchisees, we’ll invite you to Discovery Day. Held at our offices in San Diego, you’ll meet the leaders of each department that support our franchisees. You’ll also tour a few Broken Yolk units and see how they operate.

Using our site criteria, you’ll work with a commercial real estate broker to find potential sites. Once a site is approved, you'll work with your broker to finalize the lease.
